Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 05/01/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Board Eligible or Board Certified Internal Medicine or Family Practice physician needed in a New York outpatient clinic for a job opportunity starting in May. The assignment offers a 2 day a week 8 hour a day schedule no call. The provider must be well-versed in a primary care setting.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a! branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating t! he whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
Required Qualifications
NY licensed Internal Medicine or Family Practice physician needed May: 1st, 5th, 8th, 12th, 15th, and 19th. SCHEDULE: Mon & Thurs: 9a-5p, No Call. Type of Patients seen: 100% Adult, 95% Scheduled, 20-25ppd. Typical Cases Seen: Sick & Well visits, Follow up visits, Med Refills, and Physicals. Support Staff: Locum will work solo with MA and office Staff support. Written Charting & Electronic Prescribing (Care360)
