Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Board Eligible or Board Certified Internal Medicine or Family Practice Physician needed for a job opportunity located in eastern New York. This is an Temporary to Permanent opportunity offering a 40 hour work week Mon - Fri schedule. The provider must be well-versed in an outpatient setting.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medic! ine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, r! ather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
Required Qualifications
NY Licensed Internal Medicine or Family Practice (OUTPATIENT) needed 02/03/2014 - 3 months (Job can start sooner). SCHEDULE: Mon - Fri: 8a-4p, (Client Flexible) - No call. Type of patients seen: 100% adult patients, 100% Scheduled patients seen. Typical Cases Seen: Sick visits, Hypertension, Diabetics, physicals, and chronic illnesses. The provider would also supervise 5 Nurse practitioners.
