Safety Administrator 1


 

Job Description Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Safety, the Safety Administrator must have knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 and will be responsible for activities in support of the creation, implementation, and maintenance of safety and health programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assists management in the prevention of occupational illness, injury, and safety violations.

· Will become an expert in our Safety Management Information System

· Responsible for managing client requests for ISN, Avetta and similar systems that client’s use to vet our safety culture

· Provides safety training to employees in accordance with OSHA regulations.

· Provides support and feedback to the V.P relative to job site safety compliance.

· Identifies/mitigates existing and potential employee/public safety concerns.

· Reviews field safety documentation to ensure compliance with OSHA-DOT regulations.

· Assists with incident and near-miss investigations and corrective-action activities.

· Provides guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas.

· Maintains safety records, including but not limited to, employee training records, OSHA logs, employee rights posters, etc.

· Distributes PPE.

· Maintains PPE inventory on monthly basis.

· Other duties and projects as assigned.

· Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people.

· Self-motivated and self-learner.

· Attention to detail.

· Interpersonal sensitivity skills.

· Ability to make sound decisions based on experience and knowledge.

· Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education and/ or Work Experience:

· High school education or equivalent.

· Minimum of 3-5 year’s work experience as an administrator or related role.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

· Specific documented evidence of training and experience to satisfy qualifications.

Physical Demands:

· Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

· Walking short distances.
