VP of Operations - Food Manufacturing
Seltzer’s Smokehouse is looking for a highly skilled VP of Operations who is ready to join us as we head into a new chapter in our amazing story. With a renewed vision from our next generation CEO, the iconic Seltzer’s brand is preparing for national expansion through innovation, creativity, and forward thinking.
We are looking for a Vice President of Operations to help us move our quality and production processes and environment to a world-class organization. You'll work directly with the CEO, Plant Manager, and our Leadership Team to assure we are operating at the utmost efficiency and capacity.
Overall, you will be responsible to plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities within the organization ensuring development and implementation of efficient and cost effective safety, quality, maintenance, logistics, and operations systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. To be considered, you must have food manufacturing experience - meat manufacturing will be given preference.
Some Responsibilities:
- Establishes, executes, and enforces departmental goals and procedures in driving the strategic goals of the organization within the operations division.
- Creates production and quality control tracking systems and monitors performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
- Establishes policies in safety, quality, material usage, capacity planning, production methods and employee relations to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
- Implements and leads manufacturing operations strategy in alignment with company plans and customer needs to drive safety, quality, productivity and delivery improvements.
- Enhances product lines gross margins by developing, implementing, and monitoring cost control standards, waste reduction strategies and production process improvements.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
Qualifications-
- The ideal candidate will have executive- or senior-level experience successfully running a food manufacturing operation. Meat manufacturing is preferred.
- You must have a proven ability as a hands on team leader invested in the development of staff.
- You must possess strong analytical skills, partnered with data-driven thinking, an affinity for numbers, and outstanding communication skills.
- You must be up to date with the latest trends and operation best practices and bring a fresh and modern perspective to the organization.
- You must be a strong yet compassionate leader of people - we are servant leaders.
- This position requires strong strategic skills and an ability to formulate the strategic direction for the business, including all major sales, marketing, and product innovation decisions.
Compensation- Seltzer’s believes in paying for the best talent available. Salary and an annual performance bonus will be commensurate with experience.
