Our Technical Analyst is part of a sub-team within Web/Application Infrastructure under IT Service Delivery and is responsible for technical and developer support of the centralized infrastructure technologies. Currently, the team supports multiple Windows environments (Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019), primarily working with Microsoft IIS. This entails creating/maintaining websites and working with the application development teams with setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The main responsibilities for this position are infrastructure management and production support, so strong communication skills and strong troubleshooting expertise are necessary to complete tasks and to resolve issues in a timely manner.

While this position isn’t a development position, development and/or low-level technical experience is a necessary component of the qualifications because the technologies supported require a certain level of technical expertise. Interfacing with application development will be at a low technical level as well. From time-to-time, custom development might be necessary to bridge integration gaps between technologies or to develop value added maintenance utilities.

Production Support

    Participate in on-call rotation for production environment support.
  • Participate in bridge calls and other related troubleshooting exercises where a central infrastructure perspective is helpful in diagnosis of root cause – even when root cause is presumed to be a non-central infrastructure issue.
  • Participate in timely remediation of software vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in working support tickets related to the team’s area of support in accordance with priority and SLA.

Infrastructure Management

  • Plan and apply technology upgrades.
  • Perform necessary capacity planning to ensure peak readiness.
  • Make modifications to infrastructure deployment architecture where appropriate.
  • Maintain overall disaster recovery plans and participates in recovery drills.
  • Cross-train in other related technologies.
  • Create and maintain best-practices, standards and procedures documentation.
  • Where appropriate, infrastructure technologies may be ported to new underlying technologies.
  • When necessary, recommend infrastructure configuration changes to support client and/or service needs.


Development Projects

  • Create and maintain new technology implementation and adoption plans.
  • Where appropriate, custom development projects are performed to aid in integrating related infrastructure technologies.
  • Where appropriate, team may define necessary projects to refactor the infrastructure deployment architecture to meet new customer demands or aid in maintainability of the infrastructure environments.
  • Where appropriate, custom develop utilities that show ROI to our customers or aid in supporting the respective environments.

Application Development Support

  • Aid in troubleshooting issues with services in non-production environments.
  • Publish service definitions to production in support of application development’s move to production.
  • Perform custom data mining to aid in correlating events and historic analysis.
  • Provide consulting, guidance and mentoring to application development teams where appropriate.
  • Communicate Application Integration strategies and vision to the application development team.
  • Work closely with the Application Integration architects and may even play role in PoCs to aid in transition from new technology selection to implementation and adoption.

Centralized Administration Functions

  • Perform administrative duties related to defining new clients and services for use through the appropriate infrastructure technologies.
  • Perform new user setup duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree- Computer Science or related technical degree (Additional experience may substitute).
  • 7 years overall IT experience.
  • 3 years of infrastructure or application support experience.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead system and application upgrades.
  • Additional education may substitute for above level of experience.
  • This position will support a federal government contract. Applicants must be able to obtain Public Trust security clearance as required of federal government contractors to include a background check conducted by the U.S. Government to determine eligibility and suitability for federal contract employment for public trust or sensitive positions. For this level of clearance, applicants must possess U.S. citizenship.
