Lead Accounting Manager (Brussels)

POLITICO is looking for a motivated Accounting Manager to join its dynamic Finance team. The position is a full time-job based at POLITICO Europe HQ in Brussels. POLITICO is a pioneering and growing media company that covers politics, policy and personalities in Europe.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will be the Leader of the Accounting Department and be responsible for POLITICO SRL’s Accounting from A to Z :
- Coach and supervise a team of 6 accountants (one GL, two AP, two AR and one junior accountant)
- Review of all payroll accounting entries
- Contribute to the preparation of all cut off accounting entries
- Review of monthly reconciliation between CRM & Accounting system
- Prepare monthly and year-end closing
- Prepare monthly statutory reporting (balance sheet, P&L and cash flow statements)
- Monitor costs / revenues related to foreign branches
- Preparation of statutory filing requirements (accounting and tax) in partnership with our external advisors
- Ensure accurate and timely reports
- Review sales team commissions calculations
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions
What You’ll Need
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in accounting (expert in BE GAAP & good knowledge of IFRS)
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar position in an international environment
- In total at least 8-10 years of experience
- A professional attitude and able to liaise with people at all levels
- Fluent in French and English
- Strong knowledge of Excel & accounting/tax rules
- Excellent communication skills
- Pro-active, organized, dynamic, accurate, stress-resistant, flexible
