REPORTS TO: Executive Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit, supervise and evaluate the performance of medical personnel including internists, pediatrici! ans, obstetrics and medical specialists. Clinically supervise mid-levels and management of nursing staff.
Provide oversight for ancillary services such as Laboratory and Radiology services and monitor contracts for medical supplies, services and equipment.
Maintain a panel of patients as duties will allow.
Participate in overall program planning and coordinate with other clinical areas such as Mental Health, Nutrition, Dental, etc., to insure the integration of services.
Establish and coordinate services with Nassau University Hospital to insure clinical integration and the continuity of care for the Health Center's patients.
Establish and maintain medical protocols, policies and procedures.
Responsible for leading the LIFQHC Quality Assurance Sub Committee.
Development & maintenance of the LIFQHC Quality Improvement plan.
Institute procedures for ongoing chart review, medical care review and professional standards development and ethics.
Monitor patient utilization and medical staff productivity to! insure timely patient access to medical services, as well as cost-efficient services.
Attend Board of Directors meetings and community meetings as needed.
Participate in the preparation of the clinical service budget and provide justification in support of all clinical expenditures.
Responsible for the submission of uniform data set (UDS) and deeming data to Hudson River Healthcare.
Participate in LEAN and other activities necessary to implement the multi-disciplinary patient-centered medical home approach for the care of pediatric patients.

Qualifications:
Board certified in a primary care field, preferably Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
Licensure to practice medicine in the State of New York with current registration.
Cultural and linguistic sensitivity to populations served
Significant experience in health car! e industry, federally qualified health centers and/or out-patient medical clinics is required
