Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Services (VSES) in Rochester, NY has an outstanding opportunity for two full time board-certified or board-eligible radiologists to join our team. If you are board certified, board eligible or nearing residency completion, we look forward to talking to you!
We have a thriving radiology service and are looking for the perfect candidates to help us continue delivering excellent diagnostic services for our region. Case mix includes a busy ultrasound service and a growing MRI and CT caseload. We are committed to providing our clinicians with the tools that they need to perform advanced diagnostics and treatments. Our latest diagnostic imaging upgrade is the addition of a 1.5 Tesla Siemens Avanto MRI, installed May 2018 and a 16-slice Toshiba Aquilion CT machine.
VSES is the only 24/7/365 emergency and specialty referral veterinary hospital in the greater Rochester, New York region.
You’ll be working with a dedicated team including board-certified specialists in internal medicine (2), surgery (2), neurology (part-time), dermatology (part-time), and ophthalmology (part-time). Our emergency serv ice consists of emergency veterinarians (8), including rotating interns (6), specialized interns in medicine and surgery and surgical residents (3). To support our growing practice, a criticalist and a third internist will be joining the team in the fall of 2018.
In addition to the large radiology case load at our facility, our PACS server is shared by 14 busy general practices that are member hospitals of our parent organization, Monroe Veterinary Associates. The shared server allows for ease of access for both referral radiograph consultations as well as cases referred to our emergency service and other specialty services
VSES Diagnostic imaging caseload has seen significant growth over the past several years. There is an increased demand for imaging to support both inpatient and outpatient services. This is a testament to the growth of our busy hospital as well as the value of radiology in providing the highest level of patient care. Our ideal candidate should have a desire for a collaborative approach to healthcare, strong communication skills, excellent work ethic, an ability to serve as a mentor and coach to interns, and a dedication to lifelong learning.
Rochester is in Western New York, one hour from the Finger Lakes region and three hours from Toronto. Rochester offers a range of cultural, sporting, and recreational activities including camping, wine tasting, and water sports. There are nearby hiking trails and skiing/snowboard facilities throughout the area and in the Buffalo, Niagara, and Adirondack regions.
